On Saturday, January 26th, eight TCP students tried out for the Northern Arizona Regional Orchestra.

The students left school early in the morning to travel to Coconino High School in Flagstaff. There, they played three difficult excerpts for a judge, in addition to performing three three-octave scales and sight-reading a piece.

Stephanie Worstein made the First Violin Section, Gus Longacre and Jake Levin made Second Violins, Anna Flurry made the Viola section, and Shannon McGirk is an alternate violinist. Congratulations also to Josh Eddols, Erin Estrada, and Emily Bowen for trying out.

The musicians have been working on their pieces for months, and the weekend was a culmination of their efforts. Special thanks go to Mrs. Kristi Terauchi, music teacher, and George Friedman, a local performer and violin teacher who assisted the students with their preparation.
