Young Playwright’s Festival at Prescott Center for the Arts

By Devon Bonelli

The fourth annual Young Playwright’s Festival (YPF), held at the Prescott Center for the Arts (PCA), is accepting submissions! Every year PCA celebrates young writers in the Tri-City Area and many plays are chosen to be performed.

The PCA is “dedicated to giving young, aspiring playwrights and writers the opportunity of having their creations produced on stage under the direction of experienced directors.” Festival participants vary in age from second graders to seniors in high school.

The requirements for entering are delightfully simple! Writers must submit a play of 10 pages or less online to the YPF Committee. The deadline is November 22, 2013, and the plays will be performed April 6, 2014.

For more information, visit http://www.pfaa.net under the “Education” header. Winners will receive a prize package that will include a participation certificate, cash award, and a trophy. Good luck to any prospective writers!
