High school is very well known for the different groups of people. There are the athletes, the artists, the scholars. There are three groups of people that sum up all these types of people. They are introverts, extroverts, and ambiverts.
What are introverts, extroverts, and ambiverts? These are the different types of people who have a different type of social groups. Introverts are the people who are shy around people. They avoid being in large groups and like to spend times for themselves. They are very reserved people and are usually on their phones or something that interests them. Extroverts are the opposite of the introvert. They are social butterflies that love to talk to others. They spend time with others. Ambiverts are a mix of introverts and extroverts. They both shy and social butterflies depending on their mood.
What causes a person to be an introvert, extrovert, or ambivert? According to a psychologist on Business Insider, it comes from DNA. Introverts have a chemical that makes them feel stimulated in a loud place. Extroverts do not have this chemical. A theory made in 1970 about extroverts was that they are more sensitive to rewards. An example of popularity in social media. They want attention and likes on their posts. Introverts do not seek these rewards.
So, how are we supposed to treat these types of people if they are different? One way we can do this is to treat them how we would treat others. We must be aware of how they feel and how we treat them. If your friend is an introvert, for example, and you are an extrovert, you wouldn’t force them to be around a lot of people if they get anxious. You would want to do something that would make you and that person both happy. One way is to bring your and your friend’s friends over and you would talk. There are other ways you can make them feel comfortable like talking to them and making them feel comfortable.
Introverts, extroverts, and ambiverts are everyday words we hear and know what it means. They are people who like to interact, they are shy, or both. What we don’t know is the deeper meaning to these words. We don’t know what makes an introvert an introvert or how to support them while being ourselves. Maybe we will never know the answer, but if we support them no matter what, maybe we can help them feel comfortable with themselves and others.
