BBQ Dance Blast-Off for 2012-13 School Year

By Natalie Krafft

The first dance of the year was a blast of neon colors and tons of fun! At the BBQ on August 23rd, students’ colorful clothing lit up the dance floor all night long. This first dance, graciously hosted Photo credit: Taylor Whittemoreby the Student Council, was a success.

The dance lasted from six to nine p.m. in the auditorium. Student Council provided hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, chips, soda, and water bottles to satisfy any cravings students had.

Equipped with five dollars (and for some, a date) people began filing in at around six o’clock, and some even showed up early to make sure they got food.

Mr. Burgess was also willing to get shot by paint-balls at the beginning. What better way to start this dance off than by having a teacher get shot by paint-balls?

“The best part of the dance was being able to hang out with friends,” says Megan Bucklein, a freshman. “I also liked how they had the black light going all night.”

Bucklein says that the Student Council did a great job for their first dance. On a scale of 1 to ten, Bucklein rated them at an eight, so great job Student Council!
