A Freshman’s Guide to Surviving Finals

Final Exams are taking place on January 16th for periods 1, 3, and 5 and January 17th for periods 2, 4, and 6. On the 16th, students will have only periods 1, 3, and 5 throughout the entire day and will just take exams. Depending on the class, students may need the longer class time. The 17th of January will be dedicated to periods 2, 4, and 6 only and, just like on the 16th, each class will be an hour and a half, and the day will be shorter. Both Wednesday and Thursday will start at 8:00am end at 1:20pm. Continue reading

Poetry Out Loud

Anna Flurry and Adriana Hurtado perform their poems in Flagstaff at the next level of Poetry Out Loud.

This year’s Poetry Out Loud will be held by the National English Honors Society.

It will take place on January 31, 2013. For the purposes of the competition, students will be required to memorize two poems for the school competition, which will be recited in front of the school. Continue reading
